A Reminder About Masks

May 14. 2021

RSD Families,

As many of you have heard by now, the CDC announced on Thursday that people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no longer have to wear masks in most indoor and outdoor public spaces. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown announced that the state would follow those guidelines as well.

However, the governor has also said that schools are required to practice mask wearing and social distancing for at least the remainder of this school year. That includes visitors, students, staff and anyone visiting campuses, no matter what their vaccination status may be.

Our schools will continue to require masks and social distancing, and will follow all of the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Department of Education COVID-19 policies, including the 14-day quarantine practice for students and staff who are not fully vaccinated. These policies will remain in place through the rest of the school year. We may see changes for the next school year.

We appreciate how hard our students and staff have worked to keep each other safe this year, and we ask everyone to continue to comply with the mask and social distance guidelines as we finish out this school year strong.

Thank you!

¡Gracias!
